A woman ended up in hospital after setting her hair with Gorilla Glue because she ran out of her hair spray.
Tessica Brown, also known as the Gorilla Glue Girl, is a Louisiana resident who went viral after revealing her hair had been stuck in place for more than a month after she sprayed the superglue on the top of her head.
As Brown claimed, nothing she did, including the solution presented by the company, helped her in her attempts to remove the glue from her hair.
“Hey, y’all. For those of you that know me know that my hair has been like this for about a month now. It’s not by choice. No, it’s not by choice,” she explained in her viral video.
“When I do my hair, I like to finish it off with a little Göt2b Glued Spray, you know, just to keep it in place. Well, I didn’t have any more Göt2b Glued Spray, so I used this: Gorilla Glue spray. Bad, bad, bad idea.
“Y’all look, it don’t move. You hear what I’m telling you? It Don’t Move. I’ve washed my hair 15 times and it don’t move.”
After trying to wash it off at least 15 times, the TikToker decided it was time to give up on DIY methods and seek medical attention.
As TMZ reported, healthcare workers attempted to remove the glue using acetone but the condition was only made worse when the glue on Brown’s burned scalp simply hardened back up after becoming gooey for a moment.
Speaking of the Gorilla Glue Girl’s situation, the company expressed their regret over the incident and took the opportunity to warn people that their product “is not indicated for use in or on hair as it is considered permanent.”
“We are very sorry to hear about the unfortunate incident that Miss Brown experienced using our Spray Adhesive on her hair. We are glad to see in her recent video that Miss Brown has received medical treatment from her local medical facility and wish her the best,” they said in a statement.
Following the incident, TMZ confirmed that Brown is reportedly deliberating filing a lawsuit against Gorilla Glue, whereas she has already hired an attorney to assist her in the matter.point 302 |
While the warning on the spray glue bottle allegedly warns people against the use of the product on skin, eyes, and clothing, nothing is mentioned about the use of glue on hair.point 146 | 1
