A woman who chose to ignore an ulcer developing on her tongue had to lose a large part of her tongue as the ulcer came out to be cancer.
A woman who had to choose to ignore the ulcer growing on her tongue had to pay a heavy price. She kept ignoring the ulcer until it started tingling a bit and she started having a constant migraine.
When she finally went to the doctor to get it checked, the doctor announced it was cancerous.
Due to the same, the woman had to lose a large part of her tongue but the doctors said that they will be building her a new one using the muscle, skin, and veins from one of her arms.
Stephanie Wigglesworth, who is 36 years old and lives in Buckinghamshire, UK received the horrible news when she went to see her doctor.
Her doctor then told her that he will have to cut her tongue right from the throat. But there is nothing to worry about because he is going to build a new one too.
Well, it is a major thing to worry about because now she has a permanently croaky and harsh voice and her mouth hurts. She can only feed through a tube that the doctors have fit inside her mouth.
She says that the part of her arm they took the skin and muscles from hurts even more than her mouth does.
Stephanie says “I am a very positive person but cancer is not. It is like you are being forced into a group never even signed up for or have any will to. I wish I could have my old life and my voice back but I know it is never coming back.
I have accepted it now.”
