A grieving mother broke down in tears when she heard the sound of her husband’s laugh for the first time ever since he died.
Paola Lopez and her siblings wanted to give their mother a birthday surprise. They recorded the heartwarming scene to let others watch their special moment.
The family celebrated the mother’s birthday after their father passed away. Danira Quijada’s husband died of cancer and is still in the grieving process.
During the celebration, Lopez and her siblings gave their mom a Build-A-Bear Box.
After opening it, Quijada saw that the box had a teddy bear dressed in a flannel shirt and a cowboy hat. She did not seem to understand the meaning of the gift at first but her loving children helped her out.
“Squeeze its hand,” one of her children said. When she did, the mother immediately recognized the laugh played by the bear.
After hearing her husband’s laugh, Quijada broke down in tears while her children tried to comfort her.
Lopez took to Instagram and explained how her mom’s determination and strength inspires her every day.
“Happy birthday to the strongest woman I’ve ever met, you have gone through the worst losing your husband to cancer, putting up with all of your family problems over the years.. you know what it’s like to have everything and you also know what it’s like to lose it all, and no matter how hard your struggle is you remain humble and kind you have taught us how to help and love people,” she wrote.
“You’re the definition of a boss a** woman this word needs more people like you! I am so blessed I get to call you my mother.. we got her a bear with my dads laugh on it, she loved it! I love youuuu mom.”
One person commented: “Family is all we got people. Appreciate them, love them, care for them while you still can because you will miss them.”
