In the footage taken at the time of the incident, the woman is seen arguing with another person before setting the home in which she lived together with three other people on fire while another resident was inside.

“She just f**king lit the trash can on fire! Oh my f**king God, this is not happening right now! She lit the f**king house! Oh my God! I cannot actually believe my eyes,” the man who took the video was heard shouting.

“I cannot actually believe it, and she’s sitting there just chillin’ — watching the house go up flames! Like yeah, ‘I’m watching the s**t go down!’ Oh, my God, this is, this is now turned into a serious, serious thing!”

As the house burst into uncontrollable flames, Metwally was seen sitting in a lawn chair in front of the inferno and watching on while her co-resident was at risk of burning alive inside the home.

Fortunately, the other woman who lived in the house, 52-year-old Blenda Holbrook, was rescued from the blaze just in time. As her family told WMAR, Blenda’s escape path was blocked by a trash can that Metwally presumably placed on the stairs.

“After a few minutes, Metwally walked away from the scene. While the home was on fire, witnesses heard an occupant in a basement window yelling for help. Bystanders safely assisted her out the window,” the authorities revealed.

After the incident, the police arrested Metwally. While it remains unclear what the motive for her attack was, Holbrook’s sister, Pat Bernal, claimed that Metwally had just returned to the shared home after getting “confined elsewhere for mental health issues.”

“During this COVID, they were renting a room from him from what I understand, and he couldn’t put her out, because of COVID, but what does it take?” Bernal said as she explained her sister and Metwally had both been renting rooms from the owner of the home.

“I’m just really thankful to the two guys that helped her out of that basement, because I don’t think she’d be here today if they hadn’t helped her.”
