A woman rescued an adorable feline and kept it as a pet.
However, a trip to the veterinarian shocked her to the core.
It turned out that the cute animal is not an ordinary house cat – it is a puma!
In an interview with Reuters, Florencia Lobo from Argentina explained that she and her brother had seen two kittens next to a dead cat.
“We thought that it was an abandoned cat who had given birth,” Florencia told Reuters, saying that one of the cats didn’t survive.
But even though everything’s fine with the kitten’s health, she decided to take him to a vet after two months.
That’s when she found out that Tito, her pet, was not an ordinary house pet.
“The vet didn’t know what it was but said it was not a normal cat,” she told the outlet, adding that they gave her the contact number of a local nature reserve.
After contacting the Horco Molle nature research, it was confirmed that adorable Tito was a jaguarondi – a wild cat native to North and South America.
Puma yagouaroundi or Jaguarundis are slightly bigger than regular cats, weighing from 8 to 16 lbs, according to the website of Texas Parks & Wildlife.
Even though she didn’t want to give her pet away, Tito is now under the care of the nature reserve.
