Natalie Perry had never thought that the Greek waiter with whom she danced at her first wedding was going to be her future life partner.
The 37-year-old divorced mom and Fred Kasa, 36, met for the first time at the reception after the former’s 2012 Crete beach ceremony.
In the wedding pictures, Natalie was holding Fred and her husband’s hands while performing a traditional Zorba dance. After divorcing her first husband, the mom-of-two revisited the restaurant and met Fred again.
The couple just instantly clicked and their relationship blossomed from there. They tied the knot last month and now looking forward to spending their honeymoon in Crete.
Natalie, of Stonehouse, Gloucs, said: “I can’t believe that my husband danced with me at both my weddings. I just didn’t expect this would happen.’’
“It’s just crazy to think when I danced with him at my first wedding to my ex-husband that I was going to marry him. It’s funny how life can turn out. He’s the one I’ve been waiting for.”
Natalie has had been holidaying in Crete yearly for the past 25 years. She was fond of the Greek island and it made her holding her first wedding ceremony there in 2012 on a beach.
The couple’s family and friends joined them on their special day and Fred was one of the attendees as he was working as a waiter there. Fred and Natalie who were dancing side by side had no idea that they were meant to be.
Natalie used to visit the Greek island with her husband until they decided to split in 2016. After her divorce, she returned to Crete for holidaying with her family and revisited the same restaurant she had her first wedding party and stumbled upon Fred.
She said: “We just had this connection and we clicked right away.” Before going back to the UK, Natalie and Fred spent some quality time together and their long-distance relationship started from there.
The couple started writing letters to each other, one day Fred reached to Natalie’s home and surprised her with a bunch of flowers. He started living with her parents at their house in December 2017 and after six months he popped up the question to Natalie.
Natalie got divorced with her ex-husband on Christmas Eve 2019. After receiving the permission letter to marry Natalie from the Home Office, the couple immediately booked a slot at the registry office and tied the knot on 8 February 2020.
The couple who are now living in Gloucestershire has a plan to spend their honeymoon later in the year. Fred said: “I am so happy. To think I danced with her at her first wedding and then we had our dance at our wedding is crazy.”
