A woman has opened up about her joy as she shared an interesting story from the time Meghan Markle gave her a personalized note.
According to an Instagram post by Overheard Celebs, a shop assistant named Julie met Meghan Markle back in 2009 before the actress rose to fame.
At the time, Julie assisted Meghan in selecting a new purse. After the pair talked to each other, Julie also found out that the now-39-year-old Duchess was an actress, prompting her to request an autograph in case Meghan would ever become famous.
“Julie – thanks for everything, Meghan Markle,” the handwritten note from 2009 read.
Speaking of her encounter with Meghan, Julie recalled the actress as a sweet woman as she vowed to forever treasure the note she had received all those years ago.
“I met a sweet woman in 2009 while working retail, when she purchased a purse from me. We got to chatting, and she mentioned she was an actress currently filming in Vancouver,” an Instagram account called Overheard Celebs shared in Julie’s name.
“I didn’t think much of it, but asked if I could have her autograph so I could say I had it once she became famous. She chuckled and said, ‘yes, of course.’ I wished her luck and never saw her again. Two years later, I flipped on my TV to see her starring in Suits.
“I was really happy that her dreams came true. And just when I thought being on a successful TV show was cool, she then ended up marrying into one of the most famous families in the world, becoming The Duchess of Sussex.”
While Meghan may no longer be close to the Royal Family after her bombshell CBS interview with Oprah, Julie has vowed to “treasure Meghan’s note forever.”
