Milly Bhaskara, a woman who lives in Hull with her beautiful family shared a picture of her son holding a board with the words “Men have periods too” written on it.
Yes, this may sound weird to you but the woman has a great thing to say about it.
Milly says that her son who is just 4 years old is holding the board because she wants him and everyone to understand that it is inclusive as women are not the only ones to have periods.
There are people like nonbinary people and transgender people who have female reproductive organs in their body and who get periods too and thus stating periods as a superpower to women is just not very inclusive to all.
Also mentioning, she is in no way disrespecting women being one herself.
Milly says “My son Eli saw blood on my pants a couple of years ago so we have to explain it to him. We explained that some women, some binary people, and some men get periods too. And he understood that without being objective about it and that is how it should be accepted.”
Having a picture of a woman on the pack of sanitary napkins is not very inclusive to all the people that get periods. The struggle is the same for them too then why are they being left out of the consideration.
Rather than marginalizing people and stating it as suffrage or superpower to women, it should be considerate of all.
This is may not sound so important to you but those who are being marginalized on the matter may get a mark on their mind that makes them feel they are not a part of the society they live in.
