While most seniors prefer to spend their birthday celebrations surrounded by friends and family at their homes, one adventurous pensioner decided she wanted to celebrate her 100th birthday at a prison cell.
Ruth Bryant from Roxboro, North Carolina, has surprised her family as they gathered at Cambridge Hills Assisted Living Center to surprise her only to find out she’d been taken by the police.
According to the reports, police officers turned up at the home for the elderly with sirens on to apprehend Ms. Bryant.
After the officers located the senior and approached her with handcuffs, they asked her if she was Miss Bryant to which the elderly woman responded by playfully saying: “It all depends on what you want!”
As the officers moved closer to arrest her, the woman played along and pretended to attempt to fight them off.
After arriving at the station, the centenarian had her mug shot taken, whereas the police officers rewarded her with an orange prison jumpsuit instead of a cake.
“I’m in the jail-house now! I finally got here!” the woman expressed as she happily danced and laughed.
As it happens, Miss Bryant has always wanted to experience being arrested and the police decided to grant her wish for her 100th birthday.
The fun, however, didn’t last long, whereas the police have returned Bryant to the home for the elderly before she could spend the night in a prison cell.
After her return, the lady celebrated her birthday in a more conventional way, surrounded by her friends and family members.
