A woman was smiling from ear to ear in a mugshot taken after she was arrested for selling illegal cookies on St.
Patrick’s Day parade.
57-year-old Cathleen Krause from Wisconsin had been selling weed cookies and other marijuana-laced treats during the festival in Wescott that took place on Sunday.
According to the witnesses, the woman appeared “visibly intoxicated” but still managed to sell a good dose of the treats.
As per Wisconsin law, only medical marijuana is legal and even that is very limited. Both possession and recreational use of the substance is illegal and can lead up to a $1,000 fine and six months of jail time.
The police arrived at the scene and arrested Ms. Krause after an anonymous call from a person who alleged that the woman was selling forbidden goods.
After the arrest, all of the candies from the gallon-sized bag she was carrying were tested positive for marijuana.
Unfazed by what had happened, Krause smiled from ear to ear as she posed for her mugshot.
Following the incident, the 57-year-old was charged with two felony counts of possession and delivering of THC and three misdemeanor charges for possession of a controlled substance.
Cathleen is currently not allowed to leave Wisconsin and was told to uphold “absolute sobriety” until her case is resolved.
The 57-year-old appeared in court to receive charges on March 18 and is set to undergo a trial on April 1.
