In order to let the couple have fun without any worries, Emma’s father took on the job of loading their wedding gifts into the compartment of Chris’ truck.

After bringing in a cooler bag filled with wedding clothes, the couple’s marriage license, and envelopes containing money, the father returned inside the building without locking the car.

While he was only gone for a matter of seconds before returning with more stuff, this was enough for the woman thief who had been observing him for two hours to make her move and steal the cooler bag.

“It was in a gray cooler bag, so it’s not a suspicious bag, like it’s a cooler bag you would put food in but she knew exactly where to go,” Emma revealed.

“[She] didn’t look for anything else in the car, didn’t go through anyone else’s car doors, just went exactly where it was in that car and that door.”

As the newly wedded woman added, only a few people knew that the money was hiding in the cooler bag that was placed in Chris’ car. In addition, they didn’t realize the bag was stolen until the next morning.

“We wanted to enjoy our first day of marriage, but all we could think about was someone was trying to hurt us. It kind of put a cloud over our first day of marriage,” she added.

As for Chris, he expressed he believes the incident to be an inside job due to how well it appeared to have been planned.

“From the looks of the video, if you’ve watched it, anybody on the street would probably say that was an inside job,” he claimed.

“This looked intentional and planned, and the timing was perfect. This person is probably broken and hurting for something, and I would’ve loved to have been able to help that person if they would’ve asked for it.”
