A woman was caught on camera digging up several flowers from a war memorial before placing them in her plastic bag and stealing them.
The disrespectful and shameless perpetrator was recorded on the cell phone of Mark Stott who walked up to her and confronted her about her act.
As London-based Mark revealed, she was just packing up the flowers she had stolen when he approached her and started recording.
While the man initially thought that the woman was one of the workers taking care of the Battle of Britain war memorial, he soon noticed that she was stealing the flowers because she was placing them in her own plastic bags.
“We thought this woman was tidying the plants and then we noticed she was digging them up,” Mark recalled.
“She told us that she didn’t care that it was a memorial and to call the police.”
While the upset man did call the authorities, there was allegedly “nothing” that they could do about it.
Following the incident, Mark posted his story, along with pictures, on social media where users were quick to slam both the thief as well as the police who didn’t arrest her for theft.
“This is the scumbag that thinks it’s okay to take up the plants from the Beckenham War Memorial and when confronted said doesn’t care,” Mark wrote.
Hundreds of angry locals responded to Mark’s post wanting to know who the woman is and see her charged.
“She is taking what doesn’t belong to her, that is theft,” one commenter wrote.
“I can’t believe someone would steal flowers from the memorial and that they were so blatant,” another one said.
