A woman has spoken out about the rules she and her husband have set to ensure a successful marriage.
Bailey and Zac McPherson from California went viral after the woman opened up about the controversial rules they have in place to make their marriage work without hiccups.
Though Bailey admitted her rules, which she shared in her viral TikTok video, make people angry, she insists they work perfectly for her and her husband.
Among other rules that have been dubbed extreme by some viewers is the ban on communication and friendship with members of the opposite gender.
“No friends of the opposite s**. No texting the opposite s** without the other knowing,” the mother-of-one wrote in one of her videos.
She went on to reveal that no “work spouses” are allowed and that she and her husband should not lust after others on social media.
After her video racked up millions of views, Bailey began facing a backlash with people accusing the couple of lacking trust in each other.
The determined wife, however, insists that the rules simply reflect the respect that she and her husband have for each other.
“It’s not a lack of trust thing so much as it’s just a boundary of respect that we both feel is right for us,” Bailey said.
“Because I personally feel like as a married woman, I have no need for a companionship with another man that I cannot get with my husband. My husband has no need for a companionship with another woman that he cannot get from his wife.”
She added: “And I feel like if you personally feel like you do need those companionships, that’s a problem.
“To me and my husband it would be a red flag if my partner could not respect said boundaries.”
