A woman has sued her own boyfriend for not marrying her after several years of dating.
The bizarre incident takes place in Zambia where 28-year-old Gertrude Ngoma brought her boyfriend, Herbert Salaliki, to court after she grew tired of waiting to get married.
As reported by Tuko, the young woman insisted that her boyfriend isn’t serious enough and demanded to know why he was holding back on marrying her.
While the couple already has a child together, Gertrude allegedly still lives with her parents whereas her partner is staying on his own.
“He has never been serious, that is why I bought him to court because I deserve to know the way forward and our future,” the 28-year-old allegedly told a court in Zambia.
As Gertrude insisted, she has had doubts about her partner’s loyalty ever since she spotted him with another woman.
After the judge heard the upset girlfriend’s side of the story, Herbert also spoke out and defended his decision saying that his girlfriend was not giving him enough attention.
The boyfriend also insisted that he was unable to get married – even though he already handled a dowry – due to financial difficulties stopping him from organizing a wedding.
After the judge heard both sides, the couple was advised to seek reconciliation outside court due to the fact that they’re not yet married.
