A woman named Wendy Auger from New Hampshire has been asked to surrender her license plate, which reads “PB4WEGO.
” She has been holding onto her vanity license for 15 years and CNN reported that the woman was asked to give up her “controversial” plate on August 16, 2019 because it includes a phrase relating to “sexual or excretory acts or functions,” said Auger.
The mother said that many people who passed by have asked to click the photo with the plate. She asked, “Who has a mom or dad or parental figure who hasn’t said that to kids before leaving the house?”
In an earlier interview, she told Seacoastonline.com: “It would just stink if I don’t have it anymore, If I have to take it off the plate, then I’m not going to be able to live free.
” The irony is that above the license plate is a phrase that says: Live Free Or Die. Apparently she wasn’t even asked what the plate means before getting it recalled. She said she could have easily claimed that her plate refers to peanut butter or praying, but she won’t because she believes “talking about peeing isn’t offensive.
”
“I’m not a political activist,” she said. “But this is a non-offensive thing that I’ve had and it’s part of who we are as a family and who I am and there was zero reason for them to take it away.”
The letter that Auger could choose another vanity plate without any additional cost and she has 10 days to surrender the old one. She could even be assigned one.
New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu got to know about Auger’s vanity plate story and decided to do something.
“Upon this being brought to my attention, I reached out to the Division of Motor Vehicles and strongly urged them to allow Wendy to keep the license plate she has had for the last 15 years,” Sununu told CNN in a statement. “I recently left a message on her phone to share the good news that her plate will not be recalled.”
