A plan devised by a woman to test the loyalty of her boyfriend in a long distance relationship backfired horribly.
Alysha Bush and Kourbine Lee, both 23-year-old, are no longer together after they ended their relationship spanning a year-and-a-half.
Alysha, who lives in Arizona, broke up with Kourbine, who lives in California, last summer.
It all started when the extensive distance between the two of them made Alysha suspicious of Kourbine’s loyalty towards her.
“We were already so far apart, there was just lack of communication, we were subliminally trying to make each other jealous over social media,” she told BuzzFeed News.
“I went to Vegas with him and his family friends and he was very distant from me, he was looking and kind of hitting on other girls in front of me in Vegas.”
In order to confirm her doubts, Alysha paid $50 to a woman named Paula Contento who she found online. Contento, who used to visit the same gym as Kourbine, was asked to hit on the guy by the distrustful girlfriend.
Contento later reported that she went on a date with Kourbine and the two of them even ‘hooked up.’
Consequently, Alysha broke up with the guy without hearing any excuses from him. However, their story took an unexpected turn when they appeared on Second Chance, the Snapchat’s relationship show.
While on the show, Alysha accused her former boyfriend to be unloyal to her but Kourbine declined the accusations.
When asked why the woman was so sure of it, Alysha revealed how she paid Contento to see if Kourbine would cheat on her.
It was when the show host decided to talk to Contento via a video call.
She initially maintained her original account but when Kourbine pleaded her to speak the truth, she opened up.
“I didn’t think that she deserved you, so I lied,” Contento said. “Clearly, she doesn’t value the faithful, amazing man that you are. I thought, you know, maybe I have a chance.”
Alysha was visibly regretful of what she’d lost.
