A 90-year-old woman from Binkom, Lubbeek in Belgium has died of coronavirus after telling the doctors to save younger patients.
Suzanne Hoylaerts was hospitalized on March 20 when her health deteriorated after suffering from a lack of appetite and shortness of breath.
She was tested positive for coronavirus after being admitted to the hospital. She was in isolation in the hospital and her family was unable to visit her.
The 90-year-old repeatedly told the doctors that she had a good life and instructed them to save younger patients.
She refused a ventilator to save the younger patients who are fighting their battle with coronavirus.
Suzanne told the doctors: “I don’t want to use artificial respiration. Save it for younger patients. I already had a good life.”
Two days after being admitted to the hospital, she passed away on March 22.
Her devastated daughter Judith told Dutch newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws that she couldn’t even say goodbye to her mother and now can’t even attend her funeral due to the coronavirus social gatherings restrictions.

His sister Laura from Leeds told her brother was told by the doctors there was nothing more they could do to help him so he started making a bucket list of things he wanted to do before dying.
And then, he was told he had contracted coronavirus.
Knowing nothing could be done, he sacrificed his remaining life for others.
