A woman who lost three of her limbs after she got electrocuted as a child has spoken out about her daily routine and admitted she enjoys her life as it is.

23-year-old Victoria Salcedo from Ecuador was just 5 years old when she got electrocuted as she touched a wire with a metal rod.
“I will never forget that day, it was a Sunday, we heard a loud sound come from upstairs and thought it was an earthquake, but then we heard Victoria’s screams,” the young woman’s mom, Celia, recalled in an interview with Barcroft TV.
As she added, the incident caused severe burns and the doctors had no chance but to amputate both of Victoria’s arms as well as her left leg.
While the child couldn’t fully register what was going on at the time, challenges rose up as she was faced to learn how to live with three limbs less.
Fortunately, Victoria has always been determined to manage on her own and learned how to be independent when it comes to anything from applying makeup to eating to dressing up.
On top of it all, the girl developed a passion for free-diving as she grew up.
“I was invited by a friend to try and it was just perfect for me,” Victoria expressed.
“Changing people’s mind is difficult – those who think you are more or less of a person – there’s not much you can do; you can only adapt to that.”
Speaking of her struggles, Victoria joked that “killing mosquitos is still really difficult for me.”
Proving everyone who ever doubted her wrong, Victoria also became an Instagram influencer and even started taking on modeling gigs.
“I never thought of becoming an influencer but now it’s something that I enjoy a lot,” she admitted.
“I use what I’ve lived through and what I’ve learned, and I share that part of myself with others – for me inspiring others is an opportunity to change people’s minds”.
