In 2018, Felicity Kadlec, 21, from Massachusetts, Oklahoma has tied the knot with Kelly Rossi, a zombie doll that she claims to be 37 years old.
“I got her name tattooed on my arm,” Felicity said.
Kelly was gifted to Felicity by her late father after becoming obsessed with horror movies and zombie dolls.
“I found Kelly on a creepy doll collection website and my dad bought her for me when I was 13,” she explained.
Felicity started to have feelings for the female doll when she was 16, she said she tried to deny it because she knew it was wrong, but it only made her fall in love deeply with the doll.
Felicity said she had boyfriends before, but none of them made her feel the way she is feeling towards Kelly so she decided to spend the rest of her life with the doll even if her family and friends find it strange. She added that Kelly takes the male role in their relationship.
“It wasn’t until I was 16 years old that I started to get feelings for her, but it was something that I kept on trying to deny,” she said.
And when her father died, Felicity found comfort with the doll and became closer to it.
“I finally allowed myself to be open with who I was and let my feelings come out and, despite not everyone agreeing with my love life,” she explained. “I have never felt happier.”
Felicity said that once she started to feel more confident about her relationship with the doll, she knew she had to take things one step further.
In September 2018, Felicity and Kelly tied the knot which took place at Tiverton, Rhode Island. The couple showed up in their wedding attires, Felicity wearing a beautiful white gown and Kelly on a tuxedo. They had their matrimonial rings and an officiant to solemnize their marriage.
Alongside four of her family friends, eight of Felicity’s other dolls also attended the ceremony.
The wedding costs $500 including Felicity’s wedding dress, Kelly’s tuxedo, and the outdoor decorations for the venue.
Felicity says that her friends were never supportive of her zombie dolls especially her relationship with one of them but claims that she is used to the criticisms.
“I know they think I should be with a real human, but to me Kelly is real,” she said. “Regardless of what they think about our relationship, she makes me happy and I love her, so that’s all that matters.”
Felicity, who now lives in Vinita, Oklahoma, claims that marrying Kelly has made her feel closer and more intimate with her.
“Our wedding ceremony was beautiful and perfect, exactly the way I dreamed it would have been,” she said. “I made sure that the whole wedding was done properly so it would be as official as possible, and we consummated the marriage afterward.”
“Despite having been in a relationship with Kelly for four years, getting married to her has made me feel so much closer to her, both emotionally and intimately,” she said. “I knew I had to marry Kelly, but I waited until September as that’s the same month as our birthdays so I knew it would be extra special.”
Felicity described Kelly on their wedding day.
“She is a tomboy so [she] wore a suit, I feel she was most comfortable as the groom,” she said. “Just seeing her at the alter when I walked down the aisle was amazing, and to me, she looked beautiful.”
“I married Kelly but only because I accept her for who she is, I look past her bloody face and I don’t mind her not having a jaw,” she continued. “Also her spirit and personality traits made me know that she was the one for me and that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her.”
“To me, she is perfect, and I can feel that she loves me very deeply and I can sense her happiness since we have married.”
She also revealed that her relationship with the doll is so romantic they even share “intimate moments” together.
“I am intimate with Kelly – I caress her and feel safe with her, and I feel a genuine connection when I’m having an intimate moment with her,” she described.
After their unusual marriage, the 21-year-old says that the next “logical step” is to visit a sperm facility so she could raise a child with Kelly, the zombie doll.
“A baby would really be a dream come true. It would complete our family,” she said. “We have a loving home, why wouldn’t we want to bring a child into that world and raise them in the loving environment?”
Felicity told that they are already exploring the possibilities but are not in the rush to have a baby sooner. She believes that they have the rest of their lives together, so there’s no “need to put time limits on it.”
