Woman Who Fought Coronavirus Finally Got to Meet Her Baby After Waking Up From Coma


A New Jersey woman was able to meet her newborn baby after she fought the deadly coronavirus and recovered from it on Mother’s Day.

Around late March, Donna Molina suffered from a 103-degree fever and was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center. There she was admitted in a medically induced coma.

The woman was infected with coronavirus, and her life seemed to be in jeopardy merely two months after welcoming her daughter Harley into the world.

According to reports, Harley’s actual due date was set to June, but in April doctor had to perform an emergency c-section to deliver the baby.

In an interview, Molina recalled the incident and said that the medical team had to perform C-section, and that was the last thing she can recall as after that she was out.

She continued by saying that it was a medical urgency. Thankfully Molina recovered healthily but had to wait for her test to come negative twice for coronavirus before she was allowed to meet her daughter. And this moment finally came on Thursday, and it was heartwarming.

She shared her feelings after meeting her little one for the first time. Molina told her that she could hold her little hands and feet. It was amazing to see someone so tiny pull through such hardship and survive.

She praised the doctors and nurses who treated and saved her life. And she is looking forward to going home with Harley within two weeks.

Molina said that the hospital staff is truly amazing. They treated her with utmost dedication. From the time she was in the ICU till her recovery, they stood by her side, providing her courage.

She added that it was the best Mother’s day celebration or her. After New York, New Jersey ranks second highest in coronavirus cases, with 135,454 positive cases and 8,952 deaths.

Doctors are still researching the effect of coronavirus on pregnancy, but according to recent development, experts reveal that fetuses can experience extreme distress or stillbirth post the mother is infected with the virus.
