Thirty-year-old Michele Kobke from Berlin Germany has been in an intimate relationship with a 737-800 for five years now, the woman claims.
“The 737-800 is very attractive and sexy to me. He’s the most beautifully built, and he’s a very attractive and elegant aircraft,” the woman told Barcroft TV.

Michele has even assigned the aircraft the alias of Schatz, which means darling. However, due to obvious reasons, she is unable to share great moments with her love.
Sharing the details of her relationship and the hardships she is facing, Michele said: “A relationship with a plane is not easy and at times difficult. I can only get close to him when I fly with him or when I can get to him in the hangar, which has only happened once in my life.”
Michele is coping with the problems of her relationship in her own way.
She said: “I have a big model of him made of fiberglass as well as real components from him so I can act out my love to some degree.”
Michele even shared the pictures of herself kissing the airplane and hugging parts and components of it to sleep.
Michele’s condition is medically known as objectophilia. This condition makes the sufferer feel affection for a non-living thing.
But for Michele, her relationship is just like any other relationship between two human beings.
She said: “It’s like a normal relationship, we have relaxing evenings together and when we go to bed, we cuddle and fall asleep together.”
Michele didn’t know of her inclination towards airplanes before her first flight in November 2013.
In March that year, she had her first encounter with a Boeing 737-800 and fell in love with it the moment she saw it.
Recalling the eventful day, Michele said: “I got so excited with boarding the plane, I realized I am in love with the 737-800.”
Michele got the first chance of spending some time with the love of her life in May 2019, about 5 years into her so-called relationship.
“The first time we really met was the 1st of May 2019, I enjoyed every millisecond with him,” she said of the day.
Michele is profoundly in love with the 737-800 and loves her wings more than anything else. “When I touch his wings, I get immediately sweaty palms and get excited,” the aircraft lover said.
In September 2019, Michele got another chance to spend some time with her love and this time BTV was there to document it.
“My cheeks hurt from smiling, I’m the happiest woman in the world – when I’m with him I have everything I need,” she revealed in excitement.
Michele wants, with all her heart, to be able to marry a 737-800 one day.
“I want to marry my sweetheart and live with him in a hangar – it’s just a special kind of love that doesn’t hurt anybody,” she said.
Speaking of the frustration she faces due to her strange relationship, Michele said: “I wish it was more accepted in society, there are always people who don’t accept it. I’m simply different and I stand for my love to my 737.”
