When a woman from Canada decided to surprise her husband on her 65th birthday by getting a makeover, she wasn’t sure if it will have a significant effect on her appearance.
But what happened next was something she could hardly believe…
“I’m turning 65 this year, and this is a gift for my husband,” Pat Thomas said in an interview before getting the makeover.
“He said, ‘Honey, you’re already beautiful, you don’t have to do this.’ And I said, ‘Yes I do.’”
Pat thought that her hairstyle was in no way like a style. “It’s not a hairstyle. It’s just hair. I want a hairstyle,” she said.
After she had decided to go for a change, she knew who to hire for the purpose – Christopher Hopkins, famously known as the Makeover Guy.
Christopher Hopkins is a famous makeover artist who has been featured on many TV shows including The Today Show and The Oprah Winfrey Show.
He also runs a successful YouTube channel and his salon has been named modern salon of the year.
A nervous Pat wasn’t sure what she was looking for so she didn’t trust anyone with her hair except the Makeover Guy, himself.
“This isn’t something I normally do, and I’m really ready for something different,” she explained.
And although she was ready to try anything, she refused to dye her greyish-white hair.
The Makeover Guy was definitely surprised but he knew that he could still change her look without dying her hair.
However, Hopkins knew what would suit her best so he demonstrated how darker colors made her look more youthful by putting a dark-colored wig on Pat’s head.
He then explained how the platinum blonde color, the lightest color before white, will make her look younger due to the comparative darkness that would help bring out her features.
Pat was hesitant at first but after hearing his argument, she finally decided to give him a go.
And it didn’t take long for Hopkins to turn Pat into a completely different woman, looking at least a decade younger!
