A young woman who hated another woman is now in a relationship with her after she transitioned into a man.
Lillie Semmens and Mhari Sellstrom, from Portsmouth, met through a mutual friend and hated each other.
Later, Mhari transitioned into a man and then, Lillie fell in love with him and now, they have been together for three months.
Mhari told Barcroft TV about his transition: “I felt like I was in a wrong body. It is such a weird feeling like waking up and genuinely thinking that you are an actual boy and then looking in the mirror and then see yourself.”
“I came out when I was 19, and then when I came out I didn’t even know the process, what to do and it was actually one of our friends that came out before and he explained the process to me.”
Lillie was a lesbian when she first met Mhari and the reason was – her weight.
She said she never got any male attention due to her weight so she would date girls. But, when she started losing weight, she started getting male attention.
“Mhari’s actually my first boyfriend but I wouldn’t say I’m really anything, I just fall for the person. I like you because you are you not because of your gender or whatever”, she said.
Mhari had ’top surgery’ in October 2018 and now planning for ‘bottom surgery’ this year.
Lillie said: “So Mhari is the first boy that I’ve been with and sexually, so we had a conversation about when he has his bottom surgery we’re going to kind of be losing our virginities to each other, which is really nice – and scary.”
Mhari says Lillie has been his support system throughout his transition.
He said: “Lillie supported me in every little thing, she’s not the type of person that would sit there and say you can’t do this, you can’t do that, she would say, if you wanna do it, then you’ve got to do it and if you make a mistake then I’ll be here to pick up the pieces when you’re done.”
“I’ve never had doubts about my transition, I don’t think I ever will”.
