Following the man’s sudden death, the employees allowed the customers to resume shopping. Instead of closing the store, they covered the man with umbrellas and placed cardboard boxes around him.

“The company erred in not closing the store immediately after what happened to await the funeral service, as well as in not finding the correct way to look after the body,” the company admitted in a statement to REUTERS.

As the officials also explained, employees administered first aid and called the ambulance when the 59-year-old manager collapsed.

Following their call for help, the staff complied with “guidelines to not remove the body from its place.” Nevertheless, they acknowledged making a mistake by not closing the store and allowing shopping to resume while the worker’s dead body was still inside.
