Zakopane, a small town in Poland, is also known as ‘the winter capital of Poland’ as it is a popular place for tourism and winter sports.
Aside from that, Zakopane also offers the world’s biggest snow labyrinth that is even bigger than 10 tennis courts combined!
It took a month, 60,000 ice blocks and 50 workers to build this beautiful and mesmerizing fantasyland. The structure even has a 16-meter ice castle that is full of ice sculptures and hidden treasures.
The labyrinth colorfully lights up in the evening and makes the entire place look like it came out from a fairy tale.
Tourists enjoy getting lost in the labyrinth and looking at beautiful ice sculptures made by artists from Slovakia and Poland.
One internet user shared: “The place is composed of several attractions: snow castle, snow labyrinth and a snow palace – just opened, endowed with a throne of the Snow Queen, her bed and chambers. It’s particularly charming in the evening when it’s all nicely illuminated.”
Another wrote: “We all had a lovely time at Snowlandia. Our two kids ages 5 & 7 had a blast. It mainly consists of a snow palace, snow castle, snow labyrinth and a mini zoo. You can buy a family ticket which allows you visit all.
There is also a sledging area and for an extra 10ztl per person you get a plastic sledge and which you get to use for an hour. The only downside to it is that there is no lift to take you up the hill so basically you have to walk it up in order to sleigh down. However, the kids didn’t mind it. There is also a small skiing area served with lift. Ski pass at 20ztl per person.”
A third said: “Looks like winter wonderland. I only heard of Zakopane while watching winter sports taking place there. This would another reason to visit (even though I don’t have kids).”
