The Porsche 911 GT2 RS is the company’s most powerful car but BBI Autosport has made it their stock in trade to fine-tune cars to the limits of their capabilities and that’s what they did with this bad boy.

They were able to push the car to reach up to 227 mph and they explain how they did that here:

For the past 15 years, BBI Autosport has made a name for themselves as the car tuner of choice and they didn’t disappoint this time.

Betim Berisha, the owner of BBI, said: “We take this beautiful canvas that Porsche gives us and we tailor it to a client’s need or a specific goal that we’re after.

“I don’t think we have ever built a car that made you actually feel this comfortable doing something so wrong.

“If I had to describe this Porsche in three words, I would say it’s visceral, raw and powerful.”

The fine-tuned 911 was fitted with a custom engine and larger turbos coupled with an advanced cooling system.

Dmitriy Orlov, one of the employees, said: “From first glance, you probably wouldn’t be able to tell that it’s any different from a car on the showroom floor.

“This car has bigger turbochargers, more intercooler, better calibration, a water-methanol injection system, better chassis to handle the high speed – and of course on Michelin tires because they are just proven to be phenomenal at any speed and power level.

“There is also a lot of work on the interior. There are raised seats and harnesses to ensure that the car is safe.

“It’s deadly but fast. Unassuming – actually you could go and get your groceries in it.”

The car was tuned to participate in a high-speed event in Idaho, reaching a speed of 227mph over a two-mile stretch. But Betim thinks the car has the potential to go even faster.

Betim said: “It’s geared to 242mph and we can raise the limiter a little bit – maybe with a long enough road we could go 245.

“The hardest part about going that fast is keeping your right foot on the accelerator. Everything in your body tells you ‘Okay, this is enough’.

“After about 200mph, the car will start to pick a lane and you can just sit there and the car settles into itself really well. It’s hard to describe that feeling, it’s just incredible.”

It takes years of experience and the latest technology to modify cars at this high level. To create the most durable and efficient components, BBI utilizes reverse engineering and 3D printing.

Understandably, all of this does not come cheap.

The showroom price of the Porsche 911 GT2 RS is already at around $350,000. With the customizations that BBI put in, the car would cost nearly half a million dollars.

Dmitriy said: “There’s a lot of development engineering there, the hardware that goes into it and invoking all of our partners’ resources to help us get there.

“In our mind, the value goes much higher than that.”
