The longest cruise in history is all set to start a 245 days journey from London.
The trip includes 6 continents, 51 countries, and 111 ports. And the total journey will be a whopping 55,700 nautical miles.
The lengthy 8-month trip is organized by the 930-guest Viking Sun Liner. The company is calling it the Ultimate World Cruise and the entry tickets start at a lavish $80,550 per head.
If everything goes as planned, the return of the cruise to London, in May 2020, will earn the company the title of the ‘longest continuous passenger cruise.’
Viking is boasting that their ship will circumnavigate the globe – means it will go on the longest path around the globe that’s possible.
The trip is aimed at “bringing guests to some of the world’s most legendary cities, iconic landmarks and far-flung destinations.”
The very first places the guests will be seeing will be the coastal attractions in the UK and Ireland, including Dublin, Dover, Liverpool, Belfast, Holyhead, and Edinburgh.
In the next stage of the cruise, the guests would be enjoying the Caribbean, Scandinavia, and other exotic locations along the South American Coastline.
Having explored the American continent, the cruise will move to the far-off islands of the South Pacific ocean.
The vessel will then take a route along the Australian coastline before heading to Asia, and will finally return back to the Mediterranean and Europe.
Some of the major dream destinations the guests will see on their journey will include the lush green Amazon rainforest, the architectural marvel of Machu Picchu, the ancient wonder of Angkor Wat, the awe-inspiring Great Barrier Reef, the majestic Pyramids of Egypt, and the amazing Norwegian fjords.
An arrangement of lectures from historians and guest speakers would also be made, who will be explaining the history, architecture, art, geopolitics, music, natural world and all other details of the destinations the guests will be heading to.
There will also be live musical performances spanning a number of genres, in harmony with the surroundings or the next destination.
For those who think 245 days is too much for a cruise, there are two shorter options to choose from.
The first option is a 127-day journey from London to Los Angles, called the World Treasures journey. This will cost a minimum of $50,000 per head.
The second option for the guests is to enjoy the 119-day World Wonders Cruise which will set sail from Los Angeles to London on January 4, 2020. The minimum cost of this journey would be around $40,000 for one person.
The price of the cruise includes the costs of the trip to each destination from the respective port, besides all other amenities and luxuries included in a standard business class air ticket.
