A high school wrestler is being praised for his rendition of the National Anthem.
Isaac Bryant, a student at Mechanicsburg High School, was wrestling in the Division III District Wrestling Championships in Ohio.
When he realized there was no one to sing the national anthem, the young man volunteered to perform the “Star Spangled Banner”.
His rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner” instantly went viral, with people praising the high school wrestler.
One commented on the video as it was posted online: ‘Nice Job!! Hope he won all of his matches…’
Another wrote: ‘Hopefully he did well, but to me, it does not matter how well he did, this young man is a Champion, nice job’
‘Not an easy song to sing, especially unrehearsed! Thank you for capturing this, Mia!!! Truly beautiful!!!’ one wrote.
The 17-year-old wrestler said on Fox & Friends: “I sing a lot. I guess that’s kind of a part of me. That’s what I do. I’m a little bit of a performer if you haven’t noticed.”
“I was dazed and confused and I just thought they might just need somebody to do it. A lot of people today, I don’t know what the issue is but they don’t think people now… care about America. The younger generations aren’t patriots. I’m a patriot myself and a lot of people I know are patriots,” Bryant said.
His mother, April Bryant, said: “I was just so proud. We were used to the voice but I guess it was the heart he put into it. It brought tears to our eyes.”
“Nothing he does surprises me because he’s pretty good at everything he does,” Isaac’s father, Barry Bryant, added.
