WWE legend ‘The Undertaker,’ who goes by the real name of Mark William Calaway, has announced he’s planning on retiring from the ring for good.
As the wrestling star revealed in ‘The Last Ride,’ his own 5-episode docuseries, it is time for the “perfect ending” of his decades-long career.
According to the 55-year-old WWE legend, he no longer desires “to return to the ring” but could make a comeback under the spotlight if the WWE CEO needed him.
“If Vince was in a pinch, would I come back? I guess time would only tell there,” The Undertaker said. “In case of emergency, break glass, you pull out The Undertaker. I would consider it.”
Speaking of his decision to leave the world of professional wrestling, the 55-year-old, whose career had spanned over three decades, said there was nothing left for him to “conquer or accomplish.”
“The game has changed. It’s time for new guys to come up. The time just seems right,” he added.
“This documentary has helped me discover that and opened my eyes to the bigger picture and not judge myself as harshly these last few years.”
As the wrestler added, he can now finally see that he “can do more good outside the ring than I can inside.”
Throughout his long career, The Undertaker had won the World Heavyweight Championship 3 times and the WWE Championship 4 times. In the year 2007, he also won the Royal Rumble.
