Young Boy Challenged TSA Officer To A Dance-Off At The Airport And The Man Responded

Handling airport checkpoints can either be boring or filled with adrenaline-packed spikes of activity.

It’s boring in the sense that one has to watch over thousands upon thousands of passengers pass through the same point day, after day, after day.

Of course, when something does happen, it can be quite dramatic such as a security situation or something similar. If you look at it that way, going through a routine grind would be much better.

Thankfully for Transportation Security Administration Officer Joshua McCall, at the time he experienced a break in the routine, it came in the form of a dance-off.

McCall was manning a security checkpoint at Newark Liberty International Airport on Monday processing a family-of-five when a little boy in the family challenged him to a dance-off.

The whole thing was recorded and uploaded by the TSA on social media. The video showed both officer and boy pulling off their own moves, including The Floss.

Russell Horning, also known as The Backpack Kid, is widely credited as having created The Floss.

Both McCall and the boy do The Floss several times before mixing things up with a few other moves.

New Jersey TSA federal security director Tom Carter said that as long as the agency’s officers are not too busy, they would “be happy to accept any dance challenges from passengers.”

Carter added that aside from keeping the family safe, McCall made sure that the family’s checkpoint experience was both memorable and pleasurable.

“It’s a good example of the human side of our great and dedicated professionals on the front lines of homeland security,” he remarked.

It certainly helps boost the positive public perception of the TSA which has a reputation for occasionally making passengers’ lives miserable.
