Children always have grand ideas about what will make them happy.

Many kids want a pony. You probably wanted a pony when you were young too, and chances are, you didn’t get one.

Usually, it’s for the best. When young kids want ponies, they usually don’t know how to take care of one—from feeding it, to housing it, and providing adequate care and space for the pony. They also don’t have the funds, because let’s face it, ponies are not cheap.

As we grow older, we realize the expenses and impracticalities of having a large animal.

But there are a few kids who come up with creative solutions for realizing their dreams, like 7-year-old Sabastian Lucas who decided to save up for what he wanted most, a pony.

When Sabastian told his parents that he wanted a pony, he wasn’t joking around. Sabastian was prepared to pay for some of the costs. Most 7-year-olds are not so precocious.

He decided to do what many kids do—set up a lemonade stand. He took things a step further and even made his own lemonade label and expanded his business to include tea and coffee as well.

While lemonade stands aren’t the most profitable businesses, the young entrepreneur was not going to stop until he got himself a pony. He saved all the money he could. He squirreled away every penny he earned, every gift he received.

Eventually, he saved $3000.

It took him two years to save the money, which is an amazing stunt for a young kid without a salaried job. Of course, he doesn’t have any bills to pay like the rest of us!

When Sabastian’s parents realized how hard their son worked, and how serious he was, they knew they had to use to money to get their son what he wanted most.

They snuck a white Welsh mountain pony into their stables and surprised Sabastian.

They named the pony Tom Boy.
