A young bull collapsed from exhaustion after a bullfighting school forced it to work to train teenagers and children.
The animal collapsed onto its knees before it was grabbed and by the horns and dragged back onto its feet.
Animal rights group One Voice are calling for French bullfighting schools to be banned and said that children as young as 6 are allowed to attend the classes.
The activists said that taking part from such a young age would affect the development of empathy in people.
The bull was chasing a red sheet when it fell and slammed into the ground. It struggled to stand up and collapsed.
Two men grabbed the young bull by its horns, forcing the animal to get back up while another two men pushed its body.
A fifth man then held onto the young bull’s tail.
One Voice said in a statement: “All our images show the true face of bullfighting in France. We teach insensitivity to the suffering of the other from the youngest age.”
The group also claims that a mother whose son went to the school said in a statement that after killing an animal there, her child didn’t come back for a year.
In France, there are at least five bullfighting schools, including one in Nimes that One Voice investigated.
In 2018, the United Nations called on Spain to ban children from watching bullfights as exposure to such violence can have ‘damaging effects.’
One internet user commented: “The most dangerous animals in the world are humans. They are capable of unimaginable evil. Beware of them.”
Another wrote: “This is disgusting. And so is anyone who attends bullfights or actually sends their children to a training school to learn how to do it. That poor animal”
