The world is full of beautiful and horrifying souls; the same can be seen is this story where a young girl, a beautiful soul was attacked by bad boys of her own class.
Deserae Turner, a 14-year-old student of Green Canyon High School, faced the worst nightmare of her life when she was returning home from her class.
Turner was a beautiful young soul who used to spend time with her parents in the small town of North Logan. Although any place can a dangerous one, for Turner, it was a tragic day when she was returning home from school 2 years ago.
Two boys, Jayzon Decker, and Colter Peterson were involved in this accident where Turner got a bullet in her head.
Both of her classmates followed her when she was coming back from school.
They tried to rob her, and suddenly everything went black for Turner when Peterson shot her in the back of her head. This incident has changed Turner’s life worse, as she was not even able to move in her hospital bed.
When she was shot in the head, she remained in the ditch for about 8 hours and doctors thought that she would not survive.
She was having uncontrollable muscle spasms and was not able to speak properly during her initial treatment.
Both of her classmates were caught and it was also revealed that both of them had a very violent nature. They were sentenced to 15 years to life for this brutal act.
When Turner faced her classmates in the court she said, “You shouldn’t have messed with me, because I am tougher than a bullet.
I hate you. I hate what you did to me. I hate that I trusted you. Your life will be confined to a small room, and my life will also be confined.”
Although, Turner was deeply injured by the bullet, however, she was able to recover well and now she has turned 17 and got 13 surgeries till now.
She has got much support from the community. She also received a bike and also achieved her dream of becoming Homecoming Queen. Furthermore, her father walked her out onto the field to the Homecoming King.
