Semantha Bunce is a National Guard combat medic turned 21-year-old mother.
Don’t think that just because she’s become a mom that she has lost her edge, she is still tough as nails! Currently she lives with her husband Paul and their two beautiful children in North Carolina. Semantha thought she was getting ready to settle down and live a safe comfortable life away from everything, but then the unthinkable happened.
It was a quiet day, with Semantha home alone with her infant son. She was breastfeeding her son when all of a sudden intruders barged into her home. Almost immediately gunfire began and Semantha was shot twice. Despite her injuries she knew she had to save her son’s life along with hers. She had to fight back.
What this mother did was absolutely incredible and show her absolute dedication to her son. Even through immense pain she was protected her son.

Semantha Bunce is a 21-year-old mother living with her husband and two young children in North Carolina. Semantha isn’t just your typical mother, though. She is part of the National Guard as a combat medic.
It was a quiet day and Semantha was home alone with her 4-month-old son when suddenly intruders kicked down her door. Semantha’s husband, Paul, was still at work so with her baby in her arms, Semantha quickly sprung into action.

Her attackers were armed and dangerous, so Semantha had no other choice but to exchange gunfire. Through a quick but intense gun fight, the intruders were finally scared off. However Semantha suffered two gun shots and was seriously injured. Her son was unharmed, thankfully.
Sementha was able to recover from her serious injuries very quickly.
Once she was able, she quickly thanked the supporters of the GoFundMe set up for her.
The GoFundMe was originally set up by Semantha’s friend and fellow soldier, Hollie Fitchie to help cover her medical expenses. The original goal was $15,000 however the donations exceeded a total of $60,000 before the donations were closed. In a tearful moment, Semantha thanked all who donated and shared her incredible story
Words can truly not express the amount of gratitude that me and my family have for everybody who supported us during this time
