The NFL’s San Francisco 49ers finally obtained a secret weapon! She’s small, furry, plays with balls, very cute, and loves kibble.
Meet Zoe, the NFL’s official emotional support dog. She was adopted by the team’s director of player engagement, Austin Moss, in 2018.
Since then, Zoe’s become a positive, calming and warm presence for the team. Players spend time with her before and after games and also during practices.
A spokesperson said to CNN: “The players rely on Zoë to brighten their day. Meetings, practice, and workouts can make for a long day. Zoë acts as a stress reliever.”
Zoe is currently registered as an emotional support dog but she is already training to become a certified therapy dog.
Since the pooch joined the team, she has cuddled up to many of her popular teammates, like Nick Bosa and Jimmy Garoppolo. She also has a picture to prove it on her Instagram page.
“These guys are very strong powerful men that aren’t used to be able to express their emotions freely,” Moss said to KRON. “But when you come in here in a safe space, and you know that it’s just about being yourself and having a good time and getting some help that you may need — Zoë brings a lot of value to that.”
Unlike past years, the team is experiencing a winning streak this season. With 6-0, they have high chances of making it to the playoffs.
Zoe may be the smallest member of the team but she is already making a huge and positive impact!
