Fatemeh Khishvand, also known as the ‘Zombie Angelina Jolie’, has reportedly been jailed for ten years over her social media posts.
The 19-year-old girl from Tehran, Iran, who goes under the pseudonym of Sahar Tabar on Instagram, is an influencer who went viral after sharing photos in which she resembles a zombie version of Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie.
While many people saw the funny side of the teenager’s photoshopped pictures, the Iranian authorities last year arrested Tabar for “blasphemy” along with several other female influencers.
According to MailOnline, local journalist Masih Alinejad informed the publication that the 19-year-old Angelina Jolie lookalike has been sentenced to 10 years in prison after she was found guilty of “promoting public corruption.”
“10 years jail for Iranian Instagramer who used make up & Photoshop to become a zombie Angelina Jolie,” Alinejad wrote in her Twitter post.
“Sahar Tabar is only 19. Her joke landed her in jail. Her mother cries every day to get her innocent daughter freed. Dear Angelina Jolie! we need your voice here. Help us.”
Among other charges, the teenager has been accused of blasphemy, promoting corruption and violence, and gaining income through inappropriate means.
While some reports previously suggested that the teen underwent a series of surgeries to look like the American actress, Tabar eventually admitted that the photos were a result of photo editing and lots of makeup.
While she acknowledged she had undergone a nose job and had lip fillers, Tabar insisted her viral look was due to other factors.
“This is Photoshop and makeup. Every time I publish a photo, I paint my face in an increasingly funny way. It is a way of expressing yourself, a kind of art. My fans know that this is not my real face,” she said.
